David Miscavige

Usually when you think of "Scientology celebrities" you think Tom Cruise, John Travolta, maybe Jenna Elfman or, if you are an online yellow journalist, you speculate about JLO and Penelope Cruz. But one Scientologist who you may not think of in the same terms is David Miscavige.

David Miscavige is the Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center, the senior ecclexiastical leader of the Scientology religion.

And what a leader he is!

Did the Press Lie?

Last year the press made a big deal out of some comments made by Sumner Redstone, the head of Viacom (owners of Paramount Pictures). They implied he was attacking Tom Cruise. Now Redstone has said to People Magazine: "What happened was, I just gave an interview to The Wall Street Journal. In the course of it, they asked me what was going on. I said, 'You know, he would no longer be in the lot,'" Redstone told the magazine. "They treated that like I was firing him. I didn't fire him! I had nothing to do with it. But they treated it explosively. And I didn't like it."

Hmmmm, don't tell me the press got it wrong. Is it possible that the media wanted to pretend there was a controversy when there wasn't? Is it possible they created the whole story because they thought it would sell more papers? Well, all I can say is that when you read or watch the news be very careful about what you believe because time and again you later find out that things weren't the way the press portrayed them.

At the Oscars

It was great, seeing John Travolta and Tom Cruise at the Oscars. What elegant, well spoken, distinguished men, both of them.

Actors Kirstie Alley, Kelly Preston, Priscilla Presley, Marisol Nichols (24) and Anne Archer (Patriot Games, Fatal Attraction) awarded mental health industry whistleblowers who have risked their professional careers to expose dangerous psychiatric practices and warn the public about the dangers and fraudulent marketing of psychiatric drugs.

There were Scientology celebrities galore at the 38th Anniversary of CCHR this weekend.

Psychs Busted

Look at this great picture of Kelly Preston, Kirstie Alley and Priscilla Presley at the CCHR 38th Anniversary Benefit Gala.

What an incredible evening this was.

I was completely inspired by the awardees and their courage in the face of real threat and harm. You don't take on the psychiatric/pharmaceutical consortium lightly. If they are (and the are) such criminals that they would falsify the facts that their "anti-psychotics"cause psychosis in children and teens, thereby killing children who go crazy on their drugs and commit suicide, what else would they do to protect their billions of dollars in revenue?

I have seen first-hand the kind of character assassination they and their minions carry out, and watched as people who trust the media pass these lies along.

Call it what you will, the Scientology magazine, called FREEDOM and Citizens Commission on Human Rights blew the whistle on Ely Lilly in 1989 when the adverse reports on Prozac started rolling in. The pressure Lily put on media to ruin our reputation is now a matter of public record. And nearly 20 years later the the truth finally surfaces. THEY KNEW THESE DRUGS CAUSED VIOLENCE AND SUICIDE AND WITHHELD IT FROM THE PUBLIC!

Make your own decisions on that one.

Celestial Navigations - Valentine

Celestial Navigations is difficult to quickly describe so I'll call it a "band' to keep things simple. The members are all Scientologists, probably the best know are actor Geoffrey Lewis (father of Juliette Lewis) and musician/composer David Campbell (father of Beck and worked on over 400 gold and platinum albums).

The music accompanied stories they produce are magical and especially for Valentine's Day they have created a new story called (appropriately) Valentine. You can hear it on their MySpace site: Celestial Navigations - Valentine. Enjoy!

Exhibit on Scientology concerns psychiatrists

I love the way these guys put it:

Now, the St. Louis chapter of an organization founded by the Church of Scientology is hosting an
exhibit at the Missouri State Capitol that claims psychiatry is responsible for events such as the Holocaust and the Columbine shootings.

If you WATCH the videos in this exhibit you'll see it's not just a claim. It's a FACT.

So I'm glad the psychs are concerned.

It's about time they worried about their fraudulent diagnoses and their utter lack of results.

Anne Archer

Anne Archer is one of the most beautiful women I've ever met - not just her looks, which are extraordinary, but her personality.

Here she is being interviewed at the grand opening of the Church of Scientology of Berlin.

She is a gracious, lovely lady.

Check out this story on Chick

I just found this in a Tampa paper:

Chick Corea up for two Grammys!

Clearwater, Florida - Most readers read to escape. They get lost in a story reading a book they can't put down. But when the words of a science fiction novel leap off the pages at jazz artist Chick Corea, he reads the story, and he gets lost in a melody.

His latest CD, “The Ultimate Adventure,” was inspired by the 1939 best-seller of the same name by L. Ron Hubbard. The music inspired by the novel has earned Corea two Grammy award nominations. The Clearwater native says the story takes him back to an Arabian village in North Africa called, “The City of Brass.” And he narrates a parelles of the story, while he plays the haunting melodies inspired by the tale.

Chick Corea, Jazz Musician and Grammy nominee:
“And the sun's just coming up, and it's shining on the brass towers of the city of brass. And it really evokes Arabia.

The Grammy nominations bring Corea's lifetime total to 50. He's recorded nearly 100 CD's from the 1960's to the present, and his latest is an art form he calls tone-poetry: He reads a story, and turns out music.

Scientology Celebrities Attending Grand Opening?`

I heard there will be some surpise Scientology celebrities attending the grand opening of the new Church of Scientology of Berlin.

The whole grand opening is so exciting.

First of all, to have David Miscavige go to an event, you know it's a really special occasion.

Then, from what I understand there are going to be representatives from every Scientology church on earth attending seminars at this new church.

Then to have celebrities show up as well will lend it an even further air of celebration.

But I think the thing I like best about it is it signals a new era for Scientology in Germany. Right in the heart of the capital city. For years, Scientologists had to really fight for the right to practice their religion in Germany. Over the years, with court decision after court decision affirming Scientology to be a religion in Germany and with years of surveillance by the German version of the FBI finding absolutely no wrong-doing of any kind by any Scientology church of Scientologist in the country, to the point where the investigations have been dropped in nearly every German state, the opening of this church really feels like a new beginning of cooperation between the German government and the Scientology religion.

And another reason I find it so exciting is that Germany is such a productive nation, and has come so far in the past 60 years. Berlin suffered more in the post-WWII era than most other areas of the country, and 18 years after the fall of the Wall is still scrambling to catch up with the rest of the country.

I know that the social betterment programs and administrative technology the church has to offer can do so much to help those who are restore Berlin to the status it had before the War.

More Celebrity Sitings

I love brunch at Celebrity Centre International. It's a great brunch -- the best in town for the quality of the food and the ambiance.

And one fun thing about it is the occasional celebrity siting.

Of course we all try to act like nothing happened, and give them some space so they don't have to feel like their privacy is being violated. After all, they are entitled to a relaxing couple of hours over the best food in LA.

But it's still lots of fun!

Nancy Cartwright

Here's a great piece by Nancy Cartwright. Enjoy...

A Day In The Life...

Nancy Cartwright gives a "how to" and "how come" look at the voice-over industry.

November 21, 2006
By Nancy Cartwright

For you dedicated readers who have been following this column for the past couple issues, this is to let you know that I am currently interviewing a handful of voice-over professionals to get their perspective on the animation industry -- ranging from directors, to casting directors, to voice artists, to animators. I know there is a LOT of interest in the "how to" and the "how come" of this industry and my next issue will focus on some of those points.

Meanwhile... a diversion:
Recently I celebrated my birthday. Yes, I am nearly 5X Bart's age... with the operative word being "nearly." Dana Walden and Gary Newman, exes at 20th Century Fox Television acknowledged that anniversary by giving me a special visit to the set of 24. Needless to say, I am a HUGE fan of the show. The writing is superb, the casting is impeccable and the performances are seamless. About now you are probably wondering what this has to do with voice overs. Well, nothing and something.>> continued
