Struck, The Film, back online!

My favorite short film ever, Struck, starring Bodhi Elfman and nine other wonderful actors and actresses, is back on line. But just for a few days, while participating in a film festival. If you have not had the chance to watch it yet, this is your golden chance! Don't miss it again. It'll cheer up your whole day, guaranteed!

More info on the movie and the cast.

Dancer Gioel Enriquez on Tour With the Prestigious Diavolo Dance Theater!

Professional dancer Gioel Enriquez will be touring this year through 18 cities in the U.S with the internationally well known dance company, Diavolo Dance Theater!

The word "DIAVOLO" stands for: Dia, Greek for "through, across, from point to point" and Volo, Latin for "I fly". The name has other connotations: "Diablerie" (French) - playfulness, mischief; the clever, astounding, or comical pranks of a child, clown or rascal.

Gioel beat out hundreds of other dancers for the chance to join and tour with the prestigious Diavolo.

When Mr. Jaques Heim (creator and choreographer of KA - one of the most impressive shows of Cirque Di Soleil and founder/Artistic Director of Diavolo Dance Theater) saw Gioel in action he said,"I saw, in Gioel, the ability to inspire others. We are all excited to work with Gioel and feel that he will be a wonderful asset to our Company".

Diavolo is performing to sell-out crowds and will be at The Broad Stage Feb. 20th & 21st in Santa Monica, CA.

Michael Duff is Euphonix' Newest Artist

Euphonix announced that Michael Duff is the newest artist - and the first singer/songwriter - added to their artist endorsee roster for their Artist Series music mixing/recording equipment. He is spotlighted on their site here: Euphonix Artist Profile: Michael Duff

Michael worked with Euphonix and other music giants Apogee and Apple to create "A Song in 24 Hrs." Using the "Power Trio" of the Euphonix MC Mix, the Apogee Duet, Apple's Logic Pro and an iMac, Duff wrote, recorded, mixed and posted a new song on his MySpace page - all within 24 hours. "I did it to show that it could be done with this gear. It's all very easy to use and it's very good." said Michael. "I also videoed it so you can watch a bit of the process as it went. It was a total blast!" You can hear the song "Fly" here: Duff on MySpace

Duff is also endorsed by Taylor and Fender Guitars.

Persia White- Actress, Musician, Activist

Persia White is such an amazing person. Not only is she a very accomplished and well known actress, but she is a musician, and quite the environmental and animal activist.

Persia has accomplished so much. Below is an excerpt from her website http://www.persiawhite.com/:

After eight seasons as a series regular on the hit TV comedy GIRLFRIENDS on the CW network, Persia is branching out into the world of film and music. Persia is currently filming “Spoken Word” opposite Kuno Becker and directed by Victor Nunez.

As for music, Persia will release two albums this summer. One is a compilation of songs she wrote that have appeared on GIRLFRIENDS. Over half of these songs she collaborated with recording artist Tricky (of Massive Attack). The other album titled “Problem Child” with her band XEO3 (www.xeo3music.net). Persia has worked with great artists such as Gary Wallis of Pink Floyd, Dominique Miller of Sting, Jerome Dillon former member of Nine Inch Nails and Big Bio of Outkast. Persia has written soundtrack music for three Independent films, the season 5 and 6 finale songs for GIRLFRIENDS, as well as the season premiere for season 8.

Outside of Music and Television, Persia has starred in the made-for-TV movies “Operation Sandman”, opposite Ron Perlman and “Suddenly”, opposite Kirstie Alley. She has appeared in various Independent films including, “Red Letters”, opposite Peter Coyote, and the cult horror, “Blood Dolls”.

As a teenager, White’s extensive television experience includes a series regular role on the syndicated teen series Breaker High with costar Ryan Gosling. Her television guest starring roles include, Angel, NYPD Blue, Brooklyn South, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and many more.

Adding an important layer to this versatile performer, Persia is an animal welfare and environmental activist. Persia is an active Board member of The Humane Society Of The United States, as well as a Board member of The Sea Shepherds Conservation Society. Persia has been a trusted spokesperson on behalf of animal welfare for over ten years. In 2005 she was honored by PETA as Humanitarian of the year, and also recived an award for animal welfare work from Farm Sanctuary in 2006. Persia also managed to merge her activism into her television work on GIRLFRIENDS, by making her character a vegan and animal activist, leaving millions of fans globally aware of animal welfare issues. GIRLFRIENDS was the #1 TV show in African American homes for over 8 years as well as a leading show among women ages 14-42. Persia produced the award winning documentary “EARTHLINGS” narrated by Joaquin Phoenix.
